A well rounded athlete, Scott grew up playing a variety of sports in high school including rep basketball, competitive baseball and rep football. Football became Scott’s true passion, with majority of his high school career focusing time and dedication towards the sport. Ultimately this persistence paid of earning him the position as starting Quarterback and captain of the Orillia Nighthawks in his final 2 years. Winning 2 regional championships, Scott hoped to take football post secondary but unfortunately concussion history led to the tough decision to end his playing career.
After retiring from contact sport, Scott found himself looking for something new and challenging which is when he is discovered weight training. This led him to a post secondary opportunity at Fanshawe College’s Fitness & Health Promotion Program.
“I was an overweight kid, even at quarterback I was easily the heaviest in the league and I struggled with body image. I used my new hobby and educated myself on nutrition until I had lost 30 pounds after my last season of football. This is what launched me into a career as a trainer and coach. Since then I have explored many aspects of fitness including bodybuilding, powerlifting, crossfit and even some mma classes”
Scott went on to graduate with a diploma from the Fitness and Health Promotion Program at Fanshawe College and began training clients in his second year. Along the way Scott also obtained his highly regarded NSCA-CPT (National Strength & Conditioning Association- Certified
Personal Trainer) Certification.
His time as a trainer in the industry has provided many experiences with a wide range of clientele. From injury rehabilitation and bodybuilding, to amateur and elite athlete. Scott has also spent time working as a strength coach in Barrie assisting with OHL combine testing for the Barrie Colts and implementing pre-designed programming for many OHL, European and NHL players.
